about
The song's lyricism is heavily inspired by Percy Fawcett and his journeys through the Amazonia. The song starts off fast, fuzzy and heavy as the exploration begins, and changes quite abruptly to a more mellow and quiet part as the explorer's making his way through the 'pshycedelic' amazon river. It ends slow and heavy in a typical stoner fashion. Did he find his lost city?
lyrics
I've been searching my whole life
For something bigger than this
And I finally found my calling
On the other side of the world
Strike now
Dont let me down
We have to find this place
Strike hard
No mercy at all
Im just a humble man from abroad
There is a treasure in these woods
We've seen the signs before
In the jungle lies a mystery
Destined to remain, you'll see
Strike now
Just take them down
Don't let them pass this ground
Strike hard
No mercy at all
This is the river painted in blood
Hidden, in the Valley of Dead
Out there in the woods, greater than life itself
I left my wife, I left my children
I went down, to the land in my dreams
As we made our way through the flood
As we're guided by moonlight, the sun fades away
From the sky, mother nature makes our path
Oh whats been, whats been a treasure lost in time
I can feel, I can feel it, coming down
As we made our way through the flood
Strike now
Just take them down
Don't let them pass this ground
Strike hard
No mercy at all
This is the river painted in blood
Strike now
Just take them down
Don't let them pass this ground

Bought End of Days, Primigenian, Planet Terror, Red Chariot and Orbiter in one hit, amazing music, great to have found the band, nice replacement for my Hawkwind, love all the albums debbieseven7
Combining crooned murder ballads with raw, angsty hard rock hooks, Melbourne's The Ugly Kings are a wrecking crew well worth watching. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 15, 2021
As has (rightfully) already been said elsewhere, this band and album are "absolute fire."
Despite the doom-gloom cover art, this type of rock music is a positive force. Especially without vocals, which for me is a bonus. Dale Lloyd
